Version 5.2 - Patch Notes!


Some bolder changes to shake up the meta a little. Less new content this month, but stay tuned for next update as we mark the 1-year anniversary of this game...

New Stuff

  • New game mode: Accelerated Rounds!
    • Exactly what it says on the tin. Normal rounds not interesting enough? Try these extra hard rounds for a greater challenge!
  • Game now defaults to 60 FPS

Map Specific Changes

  • Yin Yang
    • Circle buffs now affect galactics
    • Even galactics are susceptible to the tranquil nature of this map!

Game Mode Specific Changes

  • Projectile Morph
    • Reworked again; aces and acids now unbanned and can now be played on Planet difficulty
    • Randomised projectiles are now based on the original attack's fire rate and emission count
    • Splitters finally balanced in this mode? Impossible!

Block Specific Changes

  • Bosses
    • Red Diamond
      • Speed increased 1.95 → 2.25 units/sec
      • Tier 1 HP reduced 15,000 → 14,000
      • Tier 3 HP reduced 350,000 → 310,000
      • Tier 4 HP reduced 2,000,000 → 1,700,000
    • Rutrix Cube
      • Speed increased 3 → 3.6 units/sec
      • Tier 1 HP reduced 10,000 → 9,000
      • Tier 3 HP reduced 240,000 → 205,000
      • Tier 4 HP reduced 1,300,000 → 1,100,000
    • Aliens Block
      • Tier 1 Speed increased 3.6 → 4.5 units/sec
      • Tier 1 HP reduced 8,000 → 7,000
      • Tier 2 Speed increased 3.9 → 4.8 units/sec
      • Tier 2 HP reduced 32,000 → 31,000
      • Tier 3 Speed increased 4.2 → 5.1 units/sec
      • Tier 3 HP reduced 180,000 → 150,000
      • Tier 4 Speed increased 4.5 → 5.4 units/sec
      • Tier 4 HP reduced 900,000 → 750,000
    • Shield Prime
      • Speed increased 2.76 → 3.24 units/sec
      • Tier 1 HP reduced 4,250 → 3,800
      • Tier 3 HP reduced 93,500 → 80,000
      • Tier 4 HP reduced 550,000 → 470,000
    • Helping encourage beating bosses faster instead of farming at first when they initially spawn, and also reduce losses through Overtime because the boss was so slow that it didn't even make it to the end of the map.

Tower Specific Changes

  • Basic
    • 4xx Magical Shots bolts are now destroyed if they exit the map
    • 5xx Psuedo-Conjurer cost reduced $1,600 → $1,500
    • 5xx Psuedo-Conjurer bolt attack speed reduced 0.75s → 0.9s
    • xx3 Blast Cannon attack speed increased 3s → 2.6s
    • xx4 Anti-Boss Cannon attack speed increased 2.25s → 1.95s
    • Bottom path basic has been in need of some more love recently. Meanwhile, Psuedo-Conjurer continues to dominate normal gameplay so it'll be losing a lot more DPS in exchange for returning to its original price point.
  • Freezer
    • x2x cost reduced $100 → $90
    • xx3 Extreme Ice cost increased $175 → $200
    • xx4 Shattering Nad cost increased $225 → $250
    • Bottom path freezers have begun to outclass the long-dominant hypothermia path, so they'll be receiving a sizable price hike. The x2x upgrade is often not a large enough boost to pierce while having too small a blast radius to be a worthwhile purchase on higher difficulties.
  • Ship
    • Base cost reduced $70 → $65
    • 5xx Ace Carrier plane attacks now auto-target blocks if they're within 35 degrees
    • x1x fruit attack speed reduced 1.25s → 1.4s
      • affects all upgrades unless listed
    • 310 Military Boat fruit attack speed increased 0.4s → 0.3584s
    • xx3 Trading Faction cost reduced $280 → $250
    • xx4 Trade Empire cost reduced $440 → $400
    • xx5 Alliance Exchange cost increased $1,900 → $2,900
    • Fruit has been a premier early game upgrade for a while, so its fire rate will be reduced while base Ship's cost is dropping once again. Military Boat has gotten powercrept over time by middle path, so it'll be receiving a small buff to the fruit crosspath instead as it is generally favoured less for higher tiers. Bottom path is receiving changes to make the path not as top-heavy. All aces from all towers will be receiving a general reliability / QoL buff to help them be less map dependent.
  • Hangar
    • Plane attacks now auto-target blocks if they're within 35 degrees
    • 2xx cost increased $120 → $130
    • 3xx Advanced Biplane cost reduced $320 → $310
    • 5xx Prototype B eject point of all attacks moved forward slightly
    • x5x Festive Delivery eject point of front bullets moved forward slightly
    • xx4 Mine Field and higher eject point of front bullets moved forward slightly
    • UCD bullet turn rate reduced 75 → 70
    • UCD bullet seek angle reduced 45 → 35
    • UCD cube range increased 350 → Infinite
    • UCD cube projectile speed increased 480 → 750 units/sec
    • UCD cube attack speed reduced 2.5s → 3.5s
    • The UCD has been a very strong tower for the price, easily dwarfing the Ship and Light Keeper galactics in sheer damage, and being able to compete with a base Flamethrower galactic. Cubes can now travel across the map, but reload significantly slower
  • Acid Launcher
    • 220 acid bullets stun duration on non-elites reduced 0.1s → 0.075s
    • 320 Bubbly Mixture acid bullets stun duration on non-elites reduced 0.2s → 0.15s
    • 320 Bubbly Mixture acid bullets stun duration on single-skulls reduced 0.1s → 0.075s
    • 420 Degrowth Solution acid bullets stun duration on non-elites reduced 0.2s → 0.15s
    • 420 Degrowth Solution acid bullets stun duration on single-skulls reduced 0.1s → 0.075s
    • 420 Degrowth Solution acid bullets stun duration on mutli-skulls reduced 0.0667s → 0.05s
    • 520 Chemothermal Fissure acid bullets stun duration on non-elites and single-skulls reduced 0.4s → 0.3s
    • 520 Chemothermal Fissure acid bullets stun duration on multi-skulls reduced 0.2667s → 0.2s
    • [bugfix] 230 Rotor Sabotage and higher acid bullets now stun non-elites and actually remove aerial property
    • x4x Gun, Line and Sabotager acid bullet pierce increased 1 → 2
    • x5x Aircraft Takedown acid bullet pierce increased 3 → 4
    • Middle path acid's bullets remain outclassed by the acid pools until the tier 5, which is not intended so these bullets are getting a significant pierce increase. The recently reworked 420 acid launchers have been severely overperforming, while 402 remains in a relatively balanced spot.
  • Light Keeper
    • Base damage increased 3 → 4
    • 2xx damage increased 5 → 6
    • 3xx Photon Beam damage remains at 10
    • 3xx Photon Beam elite bonus increased +8 → +10 (18 → 20 total)
    • 5xx Hadron Collider elite bonus increased +80 → +100 (180 → 200 total)
    • x4x Ray Burst passive damage increased 30 → 40
    • 240 Ray Burst passive damage increased 40 → 60
    • 240 Ray Burst passive damage increased 40 → 60
    • 042 Ray Burst passive attack speed increased 12.5s → 10s
    • x5x Power Divergence passive attack speed increased 15s → 13.5s
    • x5x Power Divergence passive damage increased 60 → 80
    • 250 Power Divergence passive damage increased 75 → 120
    • 052 Power Divergence passive attack speed increased 12.5s → 9s
    • xx3 Manual Control attack speed reduced 0.95s → 1.05s
    • xx4 Optical Focusing attack speed reduced 0.3s → 0.35s
    • xx4 Optical Focusing focus damage increased 6 → 8
    • 204 Optical Focusing focus damage increased 10 → 12
    • 014 Optical Focusing focus pierce reduced 10 → 7
    • 024 Optical Focusing focus pierce reduced 15 → 10
    • xx5 Avada Kedavra unchanged*
    • Light keeper's early upgrades don't see much use in general so damage has been increased for most upgrades. Top path  and middle path light keepers have been largely outclassed by their big cousin, the bottom path, so they'll be receiving some more stat shifting to allow them to keep up.
  • Airhorn
    • xx4 Fire Horn damage reduced 6 → 3
    • xx4 Fire Horn now gains +2 damage per status effect on target block
    • xx5 Ionisation damage reduced 20 → 7
    • xx5 Ionisation now gains +7 damage per status effect on target block
    • xx5 Ionisation explosion damage reduced 1,000 → 600
    • xx5 Ionisation explosion now gains +200 damage per status effect on target block
    • Fire Horn was intended to release with a similar set of abilities, but due to lack of time that never happened, so enjoy some late changes! Oh and more Chemical Combination synergy :P

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Aliens Block not duplicating naturally spawning rounds
  • Fixed projectiles not being affected by lifespan multipliers if their trajectory was perfectly in a diagonal
  • Fixed crushers not seeking properly after bouncing in Home Defense
  • Fixed 220 Acid Launcher acid bullet emissions being too close to the tower
  • Fixed Aces and xx4 Optical Focusing effects not having randomised projectile speeds
  • Fixed xx5 Avada Kedavra buffs from v4.2.1 not applying
