ft. a new boss and a new low-difficulty map!
New Stuff
- New boss: Encrypted Disgrace!
- Idea and gimmicks courtesy of @aecrostudio from Scratch, but revamped to be threatening even by itself!
- The Encrypted Disgrace introduces a brand new mechanic: resistance, a stackable buff that reduces damage taken by a flat amount and increases life loss! The main goal of this mechanic is to severely penalise the current meta strats of Red Death / Holy Volcano while still allowing most other builds to be viable.
- Also beware of its brief radial stuns to nearby towers! Triggers every skull, and also passively every so often.
- Enhancing all blocks on screen including other bosses, the Encrypted Disgrace is a 7-skulled Boss that resists most attacks with ease.
- New map: Block Factory!
- As pointed out by @MarltonTheWeasel also from Scratch, there's been a lull in new easier maps so here you go!
- Inspired by @BloonsFan162's Factory concept for @SamadiBeligaswatte1's BTD3 on Scratch; it was just too cool to not add
- Block Factory starts off as a long single-lane map, but ends with a special conveyor belt that forces all blocks to move along with it! Use the permanently active conveyor to your advantage... or at your own peril.
- 5 more hard power challenges!
- Puzzles are quite fun too but updates tend to make them a bit clunky to balance so for the near future there won't be any of those coming.
- Roguelite
- New card: Pythagorean Theorem!
- Common card. Lifespan / duration of all attacks increased by 15%
- New card: Ace of Diamonds!
- Common card. +0.1 luck for every card owned.
- New card: Shrinkflation!
- Rare card. Towers gain +1% damage, pierce and attack speed per round since placed but projectile size reduced by 40%
- New card: Pythagorean Theorem!
- Improved a lot of upgrade icons, you're welcome :)
- Improved animations to be more seamless and dynamic with gamespeed
Boss Specific Changes
- Aliens Block
- Tier 2 speed increased 4.8 → 5
- Tier 3 speed increased 5.1 → 5.5
- Tier 4 speed increased 5.4 → 6
- With Kukri-X now putting the Alien's speed to shame it's best that this boss also gets a bit speedier too.
Game Mode Specific Changes
- Roguelite
- Luck bonus per 5 rounds reduced +0.3 → +0.2
- Going late and getting high rarity cards with almost no effort put in made the luck bonus cards especially 4-Leaf Clover useless.
- Bias
- Rarity increased Common → Uncommon
- Money required per 0.1 luck reduced $200 → $150
- Often fairly useless early into the game so its rarity is being upped to make it actually appear when it's most useful.
- Megaphone
- Pierce bonus increased +1 → +2
- Megaphone just wasn't impactful enough even for a common.
- Bouncer Crusher
- Reworked:
- old: +1 pierce to crushers and extra damage on bounce
- new: all projectiles bounce off walls, and crushers gain reduced extra damage on bounce
- Bouncer Crusher might have been the most niche mechanic/card in the game so it's being completely revamped to give a more universal buff, especially compared to cards like Growth which just outclass it in 95% of situations.
- Reworked:
- Luck bonus per 5 rounds reduced +0.3 → +0.2
Tower Specific Changes
- To make attack speed buffs feel more unique for towers like acid launchers and hangars, they'll no longer buff deploy speed but instead affect the "attack cooldown" or tick cooldown of the spawned projectiles! And also allowing most damage over time effects to be affected by attack speed; due to limitations freeze effects aren't affected.
- Basic
- xx5 Instability crusher damage reduced 10 → 9
- xx5 Instability crusher elite bonus reduced +10 → +9 (20 → 18 total)
- 205 Instability crusher damage increased 25 → 27
- 205 Instability crusher elite bonus increased +25 → +27 (50 → 54 total)
- The 205 crosspath doesn't see much use as increasing attack speed for more explosions is almost always preferred. More damage is being shifted to 205 to reflect the lower explosion count.
- Freezer
- x4x Hail Storm passive now deals 2 damage
- 240 Hail Storm passive now deals 8 damage
- x5x Avalanche passive now deals 4 damage
- 250 Avalanche passive now deals 16 damage
- xx3 Extreme Ice now deals 1 impact damage
- 203 Extreme Ice now deals 4 impact damage
- xx5 Elite Halt now deals 2 impact damage
- 205 Elite Halt now deals 8 impact damage
- Antistalling with the freezer has become a fairly large issue due to softlocking and extreme stalling of rounds, so to prevent this these upgrades are adding negligible amounts of damage to slowly whittle down the frozen hordes by themself.
- 240 Freezer as a solid round 34 option? Impossible!
- Flamethrower
- xx3 Holy Volcano cost reduced $1,350 → $1,250
- A small price drop to this upgrade as the price feels a bit overwhelming compared to other spammable towers.
- Buffer
- 3xx Blockology support range buff reduced x1.4 → x1.3
- also affects 5xx Universal Powder
- 3xx offered a bit too much of a boost to support towers so this is being dropped down slightly.
- 3xx Blockology support range buff reduced x1.4 → x1.3
- Ship
- 4xx Battleship cost reduced $1,050 → $1,000
- 520 Ace Carrier plane burn cooldown increased 0.05s → 0.1s
- Since burn effects are changing to scale with attack speed buffs, 520 Ace Carrier's burn effect is being nerfed slightly, especially since this crosspath has become the dominant choice over 502. Battleship buff cause why not :D
- Hangar
- xx5 Mysterious Traps mine damage reduced 700 → 400
- 205 Mysterious Traps mine damage reduced 1,050 → 600
- Take a moment to consider how huge of a stat increase xx5 gives over xx4: x17 mine damage! Obviously numbers aren't everything but combined with a major bugfix that limited this upgrade's power, a nerf is now needed.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed x5x Bullet Hell upgrade description mentioning 9 bullets instead of 8
- May or may not have been a planned buff back in v6.3 :P
- Fixed 3xx and 4xx buffers not affecting towers undergoing a transformation
- Fixed 5xx Ace Carrier and Silver's Return planes not retargeting the same block
- Fixed 5xx Ace Carrier burning bullets damage type being Sharp instead of Fire
- Fixed xx4 Mine Field mines not exploding (Field)
- Fixed xx5 Mysterious Traps mines sometimes not exploding when touching a block
- Fixed acidpools lasting longer with range buffs
